The final picture in this campaign. Experimented with dark colors this time around. This has been an interresting challenge for me, and I enjoyed it. The only reason why it was called the way it was is that the stream looked like a mermaid (or merman)'s tail.

Another month, another painting. Experimented with dark colors and used two styluses to achieve different effects. Ocean waves look kinda messy, as well as the shoreline, but that was a "last resort" thing. One month until 2021 ends. I am shocked that time moves this fast.

A (pretty weak) painting I did for a Spanish 3 project. It's not supposed to be Lake Erie, but one inspired by it.

So, after a break of doing paintings, I recently got a new computer for school, which starts on Wednesday for me. It was another Lenovo computer, but with better touch controls and a different stylus. It's a lot more precise, and I could use the oil, watercolor, and spray paint tools to my advantage. Tried to experiment with a purple mountain with different shades, and water reflections.

To commemorate the extreme heat that had hit us, and potentially the downpour that is yet to come, here's this month's painting. A new one I've done in a while, kinda took a break from doing them since school ended to deal with music things. Currently in a music camp online, but this is a painting display, not a story post. Experimented with the mountains for a bit, one level with spray paint, and the other with normal paintbrush/colored pencils. The bushes were probably the hardest thing to do with a broken stylus, but I digress.

I DID say I make another video with the other violin I was testing. Here it is. And I pretty much chose this violin, it projects well and I can handle it without breaking my or others' eardrums. Here's a sample of it with me playing Mozart 3. This, along with Mozart's other violin concertos, are DECEPTIVELY simple. Like Beethoven's concerto, it's basically scales and arpeggio patterns made into melodic variations. Very technical. VERY HARD. Really, it more difficult than it sounds. Somehow I managed to play through a passable attempt(messed up on an arpeggio pattern, but again you can just see how technical it is). A minute of it near the end of is in the video. I have to play this for a jury, recital, AND an audition recording. Wish me luck.

A testament to the challenges that will plague me for the rest of my school year at least. Doing this only with the two calligraphy brushes, except for some of the sky and the water, which was done with watercolor.

So, it’s been a while since I’ve posted a violin video. And that’s because I‘m in a “upgrading violins” situation rn. This video showcases one of 2 violins I’m trying out right now. I might post a video with the other violin.
I really like this violin, it speaks out to me pretty well. It’s fit for light-hearted and frantic pieces while being a little (but not much) challenge for the mellower pieces. I’m playing the last 3 variations of the first violin part La Follia (it’s a chamber work), where you can see me desperately try to work the bow in lol. Thanks for watching!

Hah, thought I was gonna post on April 1. Nope! Attempted with warmer colors this time, and liked how it turned out. The house might be a little rusty, but it's passable. And a river's there, why not?

Happy March! This month's painting is a bit smaller than the other two posted, but I got used to using more tools in paint, like the spray paint and calligraphy brush tools.

Another month, another painting. This month is "Towering Peaks", which is just two mountains over a road or something. This is one of the ones I feel neutral about, but it looks pretty good from a perspective.

To keep myself occupied besides violin practice and school (which in itself get even busier), I decided to do paintings in MS Paint (the older version). I might upload a new one every month, starting with January. These are by no means perfect, some of them look pretty meh, but I'm proud of them nonetheless. This one is just a cabin at sunset, which is the first one I did.

Hey all, this is my first post, and so I decided to upload a video of me performing the first half of Jean-Baptiste Accolay's violin concerto in A minor. I performed this earlier today as part of PYAO's Play for Your Colleagues event, where several of the orchestral musicians play an excerpt of solo works. I was the first to go. Apologies for the horrible audio quality, my mom recorded this from her phone. Also sorry for the horrible intonation in some parts. Feel free to comment if you'd like, I'm just putting my progress as a violinist here.
